Toner for Blonde Hair

11

There’s nothing worse than when your newly-bleached ‘do starts turning brassy and yellow. My clients always ask me  how to keep that brassy yellow at bay, and I always recommend the same thing.

Shimmering Lights Shampoo  (they make a conditioner as well) is my at home go to for keeping blonde tones cool.  First of all, this shampoo is super affordable. It runs about $12, and it will last you forever, BECAUSE you should only need to use it once or twice a week. I prefer to think of this as a mini weekly hair toner vs a daily shampoo or conditioner. Used on a daily basis it can be pretty harsh and it isn’t the prettiest smelling thing, BUT if used correctly this shampoo can be a lifesaver and keep your strands brass free.

Like I said, you should only use it once or twice a week tops. This isn’t an everyday shampoo. Once you’re in the shower, work the shampoo into your hair, and let it sit for 3-6 minutes (shave those wooly legs, sing a song) then rinse. Follow up with  a good conditioner, and you should be golden . . . I mean gold free! This shampoo is perfect for refreshing and maintaining ash blonde hair.

Another great way to keep your hair looking good is by installing a shower filter to help with all those brass-inducing minerals or try using malibu treatments to remove mineral buildup in your hair.
