Styling Your Short Hair

Yay! I’m so excited to finally have a new Bathroom Beauty Series video for you guys.  One of the big questions I always get is about styling your short hair. Sometimes you just cut it all off, and then feel like you have no options, and that just isn’t the case. Having short hair is super fun, and I’ve found many different ways to change up a short hair style, but I wanted to show you three easy ways to wear your hair if you have shoulder-length or shorter hair.

Check out my video and let me know if you have any questions!

Style #1

Half-Braided Crown.

  1. Create a small braid towards the front of your head.
  2. Using bobby pins pin it backwards (see video for ways to secure it properly).
  3. Pin down any unruly piece.

Style #2

Braided Crown

  1. Same as Style #1 but repeat on other side.

Style #3

The Crown Updo

  1. Create Style #2.
  2. Divide remaining hair into two sections.
  3. Loosely braid each section and twist to back of head.
  4. Secure with bobby pins
  5. Detail by pulling pieces out for more separation and securing any bits you don’t like.

Tip: Use your fingers to pinch braids to create a boho-chic vibe. If you have fine hair try using this hair powder before you do this look or this major volume dry texture spray. If you have coarse curly hair and need a bit more polish and shine try this lightweight pomade that smells divine! For you coarse curly girls I also suggest trying this look with a leave in hair mask  (fancy) or this one (affordable) for the day after you get out of the shower to give your hair a break and make it super soft the next day.

Do you have short hair? What’s your favorite way to style it? What are some other how to videos you would like me to make?

  • I loooove braided hairstyles, so I truly love ’em all!
