It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for another Bathroom Beauty Series. This week I wanted to answer a question that I get A LOT- how to fight brassiness in your hair. There’s nothing worse than seeing your golden locks turning reddish orange, so check out my tips on how to fight brassy hair .

First of all, you should invest in a shower filter. This will help clear your water of chemicals (Cooligan?) and keep your hair and skin soft and healthy.

Secondly,  you should use a clarifying shampoo once a week. This will remove any product build up, especially from serums, which can cause discoloration and make your highlights look dull.

Finally, you should use one of my favorite hair tricks- a Malibu treatment. You can use this before you get your hair done or after. It removes chemical build up in your hair, which helps prep it for coloring. (Make sure you check with your stylist before using this treatment, it’s not for everyone).

Have you had problems with brassy hair? What’s your favorite way to keep your hair bright?

  • I have dark hair so this isn’t a problem for me.
