DIY Sugar and Coffee Scrub

As you all know I’m a a huge fan of coffee- not only to keep me caffeinated and because it tastes so YUMMY, but also for it’s amazing beauty benefits. I talked a little bit about why it’s so good for your skin in my DIY Coffee Oil post, but I wanted to share with you one of my other favorite coffee DIY’s,  my homemade Sugar+Coffee Body Scrub. It’s a great way to exfoliate and nourish your skin, and you’ll smell like heaven after using it!

DIY Sugar and Coffee Scrub

  • 1 Cup Ground Coffee Grounds
  • 1 Cup Raw Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 10 drops of Orange Essential Oil
  1. Mix all ingredients together and store in an air-tight container.

Here’s why it works:

Coffee grounds help exfoliate and brighten your skin.

Raw sugar has multiple beauty benefits when used on the skin. First of all, its a natural humectant, which means it helps keeps your skin moisturized. It is also a natural source of glycolic acid,  which helps your skin cells “turn over”, aka regenerate.

Sunflower oil is the secret oil no one is talking about yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets “Coconut Oil” level status soon. Not only is it super moisturizing, but it has amazing anti-aging and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Cinnamon improves collage production, and has anti-bacterial properties.

If you’re not really a DIY gal, check out this awesome pre-made coffee scrub, and get all the same benefits!
