Makeup How-To: Bridgit Mendler for Bello Magazine

My friend Kindra Mann and I worked on this cover shoot with Bridgit for Bello Magazine. We spent a fun day at the beach playing dress up and watching the dolphins jump in and out of the waves. I loved the smokey citrus cheek makeup look she created so much that I asked her to share the how to with you!  To see more of Kindra’s makeup (and cute puppy photos!) follow her on Instagram @kmannmakeup.

  1. Prep the skin with this moisturizer. Before applying foundation apply  a thin layer of primer using the Beauty Blender sponge.
  2. Apply this foundation all over with a foundation brush.
  3. Apply this concealer on any other blemishes.
  4. Use this brush to apply this blush (Rose Glow) on the cheeks.
  5. Brush this  brow gel on your brows.
  6. Apply a light wash of the lightest color of this eyeshadow quad with a fluffy blending brush. Then layer the different brown colors to create a smoky eye. Line the eye with  this eyeliner and buff it with a smudge brush . Use this mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
  7. Finish off by applying a stain on your lips.
3 Tips for creating this look.

– Keep the skin clean and fresh.  Make sure all products are applied lightly in the beginning and then if you feel you need to pop the cheeks a little more then you can layer. You want the eyes to be the focal point.

-If you are unfamiliar with applying a smokey eye, it’s a good idea to start there first, and that way any shadow that falls you can easily wipe away with the foundation.
-A tip to creating a smokey eye that lasts all day, is to prep the lid with a primer.  If you don’t have an eyeshadow primer, try applying your shadow wet by lightly dipping your brush in water.  Once that’s on,you can layer with dry shadow to really lock in the color.
